Our Mission

SMARCB1 Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for SMARCB1-deficient cancers.

SMARCB1-deficient cancers are a family of rare, aggressive, mostly pediatric and young adult cancers, usually with a very poor prognosis. To date, there are no effective treatments for these cancers.

Our first initiative is to host an international gathering on SMARCB1-deficient cancers: the SMARCB1 Hope 2023 Symposium. Our goal is to help the right people ask the right questions and work towards setting up an agenda for new R&D approaches and international cooperation.

Over 30 internationally known experts – including leading oncology researchers and scientists, biologists, immunologists, and geneticists from North America and Europe – will participate in this groundbreaking 3-day event in mid-May 2023.

The SMARCB1 Hope 2023 Symposium is our first effort on this long journey towards a cure. Next steps to grow out of it. Stay tuned!
